Contacts

Since a few weeks I use Google Contacts. Earlier I used the contacts from my phone, Huawei Mate 10 Pro. In there you can just tap on the letter on the right side instead of having to drag the bar down which takes much longer. Personally, I find it better and more efficient to tap on a letter instead of swiping down to it. Sadly, I couldn't find a setting for that in Google Contacts. Please enable an option where you can choose whether you want a bar or the alphabet listed on the right side.

The search feature in this app is very poor. When searching for contact, it only highlights it in the list of many other contacts instead of filtering it to just the typed words. And I have to scroll down to find the highlighted contact. That's frustrating. Update: I've just gone through many reviews and realise I'm not alone on this issue, and the most astonishing discovery is how the development team have kept quiet, no response to this. I can't uninstall it but I'm definitely disabling it.

A simple, intuitive and beautifully designed app with easy syncing! If there's one feature I would really like to see is the ability to link contacts that share a relationship. I want to be able to open the contact of someone's relative by clicking on the relationship field, currently the relationship category just shows the name unlike the address category which upon clicking opens the address on Google maps. Samsung contacts does this and it's so helpful, I would love to see Google do it!
